Glasswork

Jeau Bishop
Jeau Bishop is an emerging artist and designer creating unique one of a kind works from hot glass in Seattle, WA. Using elements of blown and sculpted glass, Jeau blends ancient and self taught skills to create stunning vessels and sculptures that truly represent the beauty and fluidity of liquid hot glass.

Jeau's pieces involve a combination of styles, from his intricate color patterns and applications, to simple bright and vibrant colors that engulf elegant vessels. Shapes of his work range from tightly formed vessels and vases to free flowing sculptures that truly represent the fluidity of liquid hot glass. With an obvious passion for the elements of color and light, Jeau’s work goes beyond that of a three dimensional sculpture to an object of art that interacts with its environment. Jeau has created several original coloring techniques that developed out of his study of glass and the characteristics of glass that allows it to bend and morph light. Some of his precious metal series works actually will change color throughout the day due to his unique application of molten glass colors and metals within the walls of the hot sculpture. His “Waterfall” & “Sanibel Sea Shells” series are beautiful examples of this process.

Since every piece is made by the hand of the artist without the use of molds or common production techniques, Jeau’s works are rare in numbers. His art is currently represented exclusively through a small selection of fine art galleries. Every piece released is of the highest quality and would make a beautiful addition to any collection. Collectors often compare his high quality work and exciting designs to that of the Dale Chihuly Inc.
